I was thinking something more along the lines of focusing on drinks, types of drinks, specific mixing (long island ice tea, etc.) and types of alcohols with a little history about the makers.
Sorry, I was making a (lame) joke. But that sounds interesting. There is already a wine podcast, I think it's called Wine Library TV. Haven't watched it, so I don't know if it fits the model that you describe. But a beer/mixed drink one would be good.
Yeah, I know there are wine specific ones and even some beer specific ones. Are goal was to cover more of the "everday" type of drinker. Sort of like the common man expands their drinking to try new recipes and mixes while also giving our impressions of some microbrews and such.
But yes, I know the diggnation one is a joke :-) They do get pretty messed up though.
We were thinking a bi-weekly podcast with a "roundtable" of 3 to five folks (like TWiT in that respect) covering beverages. Unfortunately, since none of us are TV personalities we'd have to build up an audience slowly but we wanted to give it a try.
I could pimp it on my video game podcast but I'm not sure if its really the same demographic. It's more for fun and entertainment than anything "professional" - just because podcasting is enjoyable for us to do.
Yeah, it seems that a diabetes podcast would probably be a bad placement :-) Along with any podcasts on AA (well, you really cannot get worse placement than that)

I really couldn't pimp it on my diabetes podcast, either. But I'd give it some good ol' word of mouth.

I'm guessing AA wouldn't like it if our tag-line was: "The only alcoholics meeting where you can come and drink!" ;)
